Dimmable LED by John Junior Kim made with fresnel lens; a type of composite compact lens developed by the French physicist Augustin Jean Fresnel.  

"It’s my first time ditching the lamp socket and going into LED territory.
I had to relearn what a watt was and buy myself a proper soldering iron but it was all well worth the effort.

This piece demanded compositional clarity. it wanted be expressed as simple shapes and the use of LEDs let me sneak a little light source in there without disrupting the design intent."
